Electing Peace

Electing Peace

Election day has come and gone but we are still waiting on results for the most important presidential race in all of history. It seems anxiety has never been higher for all involved. Never in any previous elections do I recall seeing relaxation apps being promoted on TV or puppy petting events being advertised to help ease the tension of this season. As Christians, we have been called to pray for our leaders, to cast our ballots for those who would honor our biblical values and then to trust in God’s sovereign hand as we await the outcome. This is where we are today. Every hour that goes by brings a roller coaster of emotions and we likely will not know a final outcome for several days if not longer.

Now is not the time to lose our focus my friends. No matter how the election turns out, we know what our future holds- not only for believers but non-believers as well. The convergence of end time events we have read about for so long (see articles and videos on this I have posted in the “Resources” section) are all pointing directly at a rapidly approaching rapture of believers. That means non-believers will be left behind. We need to share the Good News with the multitude of broken people who so desperately need a Savior. In order to share hope, we are going to need to be able to reflect that hope and the peace and confidence that our hope should bring to our demeanor and everyday lives. We can’t look just like the rest of the world- hand wringing, hyperventilating, freaking out, med popping and stressed out to the point of snapping at those around us. Why would anyone want to listen to us go on about Jesus and heaven if that is how we are presenting Him? No, we are to carry ourselves in a different manner and our outlook should be very different from the rest of this dying world. Colossians 3:15 says:

“And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body, you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.”

Yes, even if the leaders of our country are not what we had expected or hoped for, we need to remember that God is in control and to be THANKFUL for what he has allowed as it is ushering us one step closer, one day closer to our blessed hope for an eternity with our Lord and Savior in the world we all long for. Jesus himself told us in Matthew 24;

“…don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place…but the one who endures to the end will be saved.”

As Christians, it is possible and likely that we will see some major changes in the way we have lived and been treated in the past. We should expect persecution, hatred toward us, hardships and oppression. This is what Jesus has warned us about. But life will go on and we will live it to the best of our ability as God gives us the strength, courage and wisdom we need when we ask Him. We should also not forget that we have each other- the body of Christ- to lean on during these times. Hand in hand, arm in arm, side by side, we will march toward our future with heads held high, and without regard to the intimidation tactics of the devil. He is defeated. He has no power. We can’t forget that. We are also cheered on by all the saints in heaven and all those that have gone before us, watching us- the final relay team- on our last lap, sprinting toward the finish line.

I haven’t written as much lately as I hadn’t had any real glimpses and I knew that something special was coming. So today I will leave you with the most amazing glimpse I have ever had in my life that came in the form of a dream exactly one week ago. This dream was unique because in it I was being raptured along with all the other believers! I had an awareness of exactly what was going on- my body was tingling with excitement and I smiled with glee as I started to feel my body lift up toward the heavens as my spirit could hear and feel Jesus calling me. I began to experience an awareness of knowledge, of understanding about matters I had never known before. Questions were suddenly answered. I always thought there would be some sort of revealing and a big “ah ha!” moment, but this was more like a sudden information download into my brain and a very calm awareness of that new information. I was so joyful about what was taking place but at the same time I knew that it was a dream. I literally prayed during the dream asking God to help me remember it because it was so amazing. I know I am not the only one who has had this dream. Believers all over the world are experiencing similar dreams of the rapture and end times. I would love to hear from you if you have experienced a dream of your own so please share in the comments section.

It’s getting real, y’all. We don’t need to be scared or nervous or stressed out. We should be pumped. We are told to stand and look up because our salvation is near! When Jesus comes, I hope I am gazing heavenward with the full expectation of his arrival, my lamp in my hands full of oil and that I am dressed and ready to go. I hope you will join me.

  1. I believe God is allowing the turmoil we are experiencing all around us to remind us that this is NOT OUR HOME! I am ready to be raptured right this second because I know without a doubt that the very best day here ia trash compared to what awaits me.

  2. I woke up this morning around 3am with my mind spinning with anxious thoughts.. and then I remembered that you were going to post something that God laid on hour heart….really hit the spot. I am so glad that God woke me up so that I could be encouraged. When I first woke up I I started worrying that I wasn’t going to get enough sleep to function well for the day… but after reading your timely word,..I’ve been infused with Hope and encouragement that has replaced any need for sleep. God works like that when you just trust Him.. we think we know what is best for us , but God knows our need better.😊
